Eligible applicants could not hold residency for more than 183 days within another jurisdiction and have the option to either rent or purchase a property with minimum requirements and possess a health insurance cover. The tax benefit was a flat 15% tax rate on the pension remitted to Malta with a minimum threshold of €7,500 tax payable yearly for the main beneficiary plus €500 for each dependant.
