TIGNE POINT is a Luxury Lifestyle Development in Tigne, a peninsula on the foreshore of Sliema, overlooking Marsamxetto Harbour.
Built on the site of the former Tigné Barracks, the area was redeveloped into a luxury mixed used development of residential and commercial properties.
To create a holistic lifestyle and a fully pedestrianised car‐free zone environment, the developers only constructed 55% of the entire site (circa 110,000 sqm total footprint) into residential apartments of varying sizes, planned around the perimeter of the project, created extensive open public spaces and a series of foreshore walkways, and routed all traffic into a large underground parking area.
The project offered various leisure and commercial activities, such as THE POINT- a Shopping Centre with 23,000 sqm of retail space inside with a fully-fledged football pitch and training complex situated on the roof top.
THE CENTRE – a 12,500 sqm premium IT enabled modular business centre, as well as over 2,500 sqm of retail space framing PJAZZA TIGNE – a large open square in the heart of the development with bars, cafés and restaurants and a resident’s swimming pool.
Strong emphasis has been put on the restoration of the important historic sites in the area including Fort Tigné, St Luke’s Garrison Chapel, the Garden Battery and the Clock Tower blocks. These have now been restored to complement the contemporary architecture that characterises the site.
